Perhaps more than anything else, Jane Street is a learning and teaching enterprise, encompassing everyone from the newest hire to the most experienced hand. From their first day, new hires sit on a desk where their more experienced teammates answer questions, explain their thinking, and engage in open discussions. Lively and impromptu debates arise on a variety of topics, taking learning in unexpected directions.

Jane Street provides large, dedicated classrooms for lectures, guest speakers, seminars, and simulated trading sessions. Formal instruction covers a range of topics in trading and finance theory, mathematics, economics, and computer science.

Everyone at Jane Street is expected to be a teacher as well as a student. Mentoring and classroom teaching are valued, respected, and compensated.
